Meet Aaron Schaefer – A Seasoned Investment Leader Committed to Strategy, Integrity, and Lifelong Relationships
Aaron Schaefer is a Senior Vice President, Investment Officer with more than 25 years of experience. Focused on building enduring relationships, Aaron believes in a client-first approach rooted in integrity and fiduciary responsibility. His work reflects a dedication to helping clients achieve their goals through thoughtful and disciplined investment selection and portfolio management.
As a member of the Trust and Wealth Management leadership team, Aaron leads the investment team’s comprehensive wealth strategies for individuals, families, and businesses. Aaron and the investment team are responsible for the investment and portfolio implementation strategies for the department. Aaron also serves as the Chair of the Trust and Wealth Management Department’s Investment Committee.
Aaron is a graduate of the University of Iowa and holds a BBA and MBA concentrating in Finance.
Aaron has been actively involved with organizations in his community, including:
- United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties
- The Riverside Theatre
- The Iowa City Area Chamber Ambassadors
- The James Gang, a local non-profit incubator
He currently serves on the board of the Amana Heritage Society and the Hawkeye Area Council, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Iowa City (noon), the Tippie College of Business Krause Fund Advisory Board, and the University of Iowa Libraries Advancement Council.
Outside of the bank, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family, birding, gardening, cooking, and playing guitar and piano both at home and as member of a local band performing in and around the Corridor.
