Meet Chuck Hippee – An Experienced Retirement Plan Professional Focused on Delivering Strategies That Help Employers and Employees Achieve Long-Term Financial Wellness

Chuck is a Senior Vice President and Retirement Plan Officer with Hills Bank’s Trust and Wealth Management team. He works with businesses to create retirement plans that support employee recruitment, retention, and long-term financial well-being. With more than 40 years of experience, Chuck combines expertise in accounting and law with firsthand insight into the challenges business owners face—something he learned early on through his family’s small business in Iowa City.

After earning his accounting degree from the University of Iowa, Chuck passed the CPA exam, attended law school at Creighton University School of Law , and passed the bar exam—building a strong foundation that has guided his career ever since. He’s held key roles at major area law firms, worked in the tax departments of national CPA firms, and served in the trust and wealth management division of a large national bank. While retirement plans have always been his specialty, his broad experience has made him a trusted advisor across many areas of financial services.

Over the years, Chuck has participated in a number of local organizations, including Junior Achievement, serving on the North Liberty City Council and as Mayor, leading the campaign to build the North Liberty Community Center and participating in regional economic development groups. He’s always been driven by a desire to help people solve problems and make confident, informed decisions about their financial futures.

As a native of Eastern Iowa, Chuck enjoys the numerous recreational activities the area has to offer, including swimming, cycling, running, and rowing. He also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, and reading historical nonfiction.
