Meet Elli Ruen – A Thoughtful Trust Officer Guiding Clients with Clarity and Compassion
Elli is a Trust Officer who specializes in personal trust administration, charitable trusts, estate planning and estate administration, and donor advised gift funds. She primarily handles estates and trusts where Hills Bank is named as Executor or Trustee and works closely with the attorney, as well as the beneficiaries.
Elli builds relationships with clients and beneficiaries, striving to provide them with an understanding of the overall probate and/or trust processes, clear and timely communication, and consistent updates on next steps.
Prior to joining the bank, Elli worked in private practice for over five years at a law firm where she focused on guiding clients through their estate planning (including wills, trusts, and powers of attorney), serving as the attorney for estate probate and trust administration, maintaining guardianship and conservatorships, and organizing business entities. Elli is a double University of Iowa graduate, having completed both her undergraduate and law school graduate studies in Iowa City.
In her free time, Elli enjoys reading, baking, photography, and card games. You can also find Elli out and about walking or hiking with her dog, in any of the hazards on the golf course, and dinking around on the pickleball court. As the youngest of five children with siblings spread from coast to coast, Elli travels often to spend time with her family.
